The fun will come out at Neewollah!
Another Neewollah year is on its way and planning has already begun! We hope to see you at the festival that will be held October 17-25. So much goes into making this nine-day celebration successful and it cannot be possible without numerous volunteers and sponsors. The banners go up, friends and families come together and the small town of Independence transforms into a magical place.
Mark your calendars as we kick off the festival with three performances of Annie. Annie is a heartwarming musical that will have you singing along to classic songs and smiling at the sweet message of hope, resilience, and love. Make your way to the annual Chili Cook-Off, 5K/10K and Fun Run events on Saturday morning. Monday and Tuesday you will not want to miss the talented queen candidates and the crowning of Queen Neelah the 84th. On Wednesday morning the carnival, food stands, and bandstand entertainment will begin. Neewollah provides a parade for everyone; Thursday the DooDah parade, Friday the Kiddie parade and then Saturday will be the Grand Parade. After the Grand Parade we invite you to head out to Shulthis Stadium for the exciting Marching Band Festival that brings high school bands from all over. Please keep checking the Neewollah website and Neewollah Facebook page for the many other exciting things to come and for news and updates.
To say I am honored to be the 2025 Generalissimo would be an understatement. This is a celebration I have been watching my entire life and I am so thankful to all the generalissimos, board members and volunteers that have come before me. Independence is a special town full of amazing people and Neewollah seems to bring us all together for the purpose of family fun and celebration. On behalf of myself and the Neewollah Board of Directors, we are looking forward to seeing everyone in October where the fun will come out at Neewollah!
